Wm. O’Brien is delighted to announce that it has maintained its ZERO Harm objective with no accidents for 2019. This is the fourth year in a row that the company has maintained its record of no reportable accidents.
This ZERO Harm result is achieved on the back of a constant focus on Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) in the company. Regular site audits and inspections continue to be core to how the business operates, with an emphasis on reporting so that nothing is overlooked or ignored. This is underpinned by ongoing compliance with relevant EN standards and legislation.
Commenting on the results, William O’Brien, managing director of Wm. O’Brien said, “We are delighted to continue our record of ZERO Harm and know that this is as a result of the whole team paying attention to the small details. Safe working doesn’t just happen but needs constant commitment from everyone in the company.
Team engagement is key. As well as ongoing EH&S training, we promote continual two-way communication across the team sharing knowledge and learnings.”
In 2019 Wm. O’Brien also achieved ISO 45001, becoming one of the first crane hire companies in the world to receive this accreditation. As part of the continual development of its integrated management system, the company also maintained its ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certifications.
