Growing Fleet at Wm. O’Brien

April 7, 2021

Terex Demag TC2800In response to changing market needs, Wm. O’Brien is adding a number of new cranes to its fleet this year. The company has just taken delivery of a Terex Demag TC2800 with a lifting capacity of 600t. This crane will primarily be used for projects in the civil, wind and mechanical sectors. 200t, 160t and 50t mobile cranes are also due in this year. These are brought in as a response to the varied needs of our customers and as a part of the continuous process of updating the crane fleet.

As the Terex Demag TC2800 can be driven on the road it removes the need for extra transport for the car body and tracks. This offers substantial time and cost savings for customers in comparison to similar sized crawler cranes. Its impressive outrigger base gives excellent lifting capacities up to 600 tonne and a maximum boom length of 192 m.

Séamus Corbett, Operations Director with Wm. O’Brien commented, “We are committed to continuously investing in the most suitable cranes to best serve our customers’ needs and are delighted to have taken delivery of the TC2800.  It’s a compact machine offering great capacity and the ability to work at higher wind speeds and will be of benefit to a wide range of our customers.

“We are committed to offering our customers the highest quality service, with the most suitable cranes for their heavy lifts. The other mobile cranes due this year will ensure that we keep modernising our fleet, and providing the most flexible solutions depending on weights, working radius and site access.”
